Prof. Dr. Goran S. Ristić was born on August 2, 1964 in Niš, Serbia. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics at the Faculty of Natural Science and Mathematics, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, University of Niš, Serbia. Since 1990, he has been with the University of Niš, Faculty of Electronic Engineering, where he is currently a Full Professor of Physics and Head of Applied Physics Laboratory. As a Full Professor at the University of Niš, he has significant experience in research and education, participating in numerous research projects and teaching various courses. From 2001 to 2003, he was at the University of Toronto, Department of Medical Biophysics and Medical Imaging.,

His research includes radiation dosimeters, the reliability of MOS transistor (the radiation and post-irradiation effects, as well as the electrical and post-electrical stress effects), the electrical discharge and recombination processes in the afterglow periods in gases, and medical X-ray imaging. Goran Ristic is author or co-author of more than 100 research papers, including 82 papers in journals from WoS list. On the basis of SCOPUS data, his papers have been cited more than 1500 times (excluding self citations), and his H – index is 20 (excluding self citations).

He participated in 6 national projects in the period 1993 - 2010, and was a local coordinator of FP7 – REGPOT project in the period 2008-12. He also managed two bilateral projects with Germany (2014 and 2015) and one bilateral project with Slovenia (2015). In addition, from 2011, he managed an interdisciplinary national project related to the radiation measurement and protection, which gathers the researchers from four universities and eleven faculties from Serbia. He was a coordinator of Horizon 2020 – Twinning project in the period 2019-23 (https://elicsir-project.eu). From January 2023, he is a PPD in NATO project with Turkish coordinator.

He has been the Conference Chairman of all twelve RAD Conferences.
